When they were kids, the buttoned-up neighbour across the lane had a party and Granny took Philadelphia instead of her sister, Klaudia.
Philadelphia was asked to recite a poem, (Klaudia had done Tennyson). Philadelphia led with the only thing she had ever memorized, which was a limerick about the pelican. A major let-down. All her life, Klaudia had pulled people closer with her glitter. Everyone fit with her. Even the ugly man who hated fireflies liked her.
